General Information:
Mbuluzi Game Reserve is a privately owned reserve in the North-East corner of Swaziland, forming part of the Lubombo Conservancy. Two rivers flow through the reserve, which together with the bushveld plains and mountainous ridges make Mbuluzi a really beautiful place!
There are three luxury, self-catering lodges and a luxury tented camp. Two accommodating 8 people, the other 5, with the tented camp accommodating 6 people. The lodges and tented camp are fully equipped with everything you would need, including fridge/freezer, oven, microwave, skottle braai and out-door braai area supplied with firewood. Each lodge is privately situated on the Mlawula River, and overnight guests are welcome to fish if they like. The tented camp and one of the larger lodges have swimming pools.
The campsite, situated above some amazing rapids in the Mbuluzi River, has hot showers and firewood is supplied, but there is no electricity. A great setting to really enjoy the bush as it's supposed to be.
Bird-watching is very good, with more than 300 species recorded. Many animal species can be seen including Giraffe, Zebra, Wildebeest, Kudu, Nyala, Bushbuck, Waterbuck and Hippo and of course Impala and Warthog. Hyenas are often heard and leopard also occur.
There is a good network of game-viewing roads which are well marked for easy navigation. There are also many marked walking trails. Visitors can drive, walk, or cycle around the reserve at their leisure and at their own time; no guides are necessary.
Mbuluzi Game Reserve is under an hour's drive from Manzini and less than two from Nelspruit. There are a couple of restaurants, golf courses and other sporting facilities fairly close by, and the borders to South Africa [Managa] and Mozambique [Lomahasha] are within a 20 minute drive.
